3.Process brief:

    MS absorbing purifier system is adopted and turbine expander with booster for cold production. The plant is of low pressure process. The whole process includes:  Raw air filter and compression system, air precooling system, MS purification system, rectification system, instrument control system, electric control system, O2 compression system, N2 compression system.

The features as:
  a. The whole design uses present advanced software “ ASPEN design software” so as to keep the advance level when the software is promoting with the air separation plant level to the world advance level.

  b.Precooling system uses packing stuff tower so that mass transfer, heat exchange efficient is very high.Resisstance is small, reliability is good. Operation period is long

  c. MS absorbing purification technology is used so that switch over is auto-operated with simple process, easy operation , less loss of switch over , stable operation condition and safe and reliable operation.

3.1 Air compressor:

    Before air goes to air compressor, it goes through air filter for removal of dust and particles. It is cooled down by intermedium cooler before it enters the air cooling tower AC.

3.2Air purification and cooling:

  Air is cooled in air cooling tower by ambient tempt. water and refrigerated water(in two stages) to 8~10℃,cooling water for air cooling tower is water cooling tower and Freon chiller unit and recycling used.  Air out of air cooling tower enters MS absorbers which ar of vertical bed for removal of moisture, CO2 and CnHm so as to obtain clean and dried air.  Two absorbers are in turn to absorb. One is absorbing the impurity while the other is under regeneration by high tempt. waste nitrogen.

  The air after absorber is filtered from MS particles and is divided into two branches: One goes through main heat exchanger to be cooled to near dew point tempt. to the lower column;Another branch goes to expansion turbine. Expanded air before going to the upper column it is heat-siphoned to reduce the overheat degree and enters the upper column for rectification.

3.3 Lower column:

  Cooled air enters lower column for preliminary separation. Air entering the lower column goes through plates to make the liquid on the plates evaporating. The purpose is to evaporate more liquid nitrogen to exchange heat with air and mass exchange to make the O2 to be condensed. In result, O2 content in liquid at the bottom of the lower column is increased. Nitrogen content in steam is increased through subcooler at the top. Nitrogen at the top of the upper column goes through condenser-evaporator to have heat exchange with liquid O2 and liquid oxygen is evaporated and the nitrogen is condensed. Part of the condensed nitrogen goes back to lower column as reflux for lower column.

  Another part of liquid nitrogen is subcooled in subcooler and is delivered to upper column as reflux for upper column. Liquid air is obtained at the bottom of lower column and goes through subcooler and after throttled, it enters upper column to take part in rectification in upper column.

3.4 Upper column

  Oxygen is abstracted from the bottom of upper column. Via main heat exchanger, it is reheated and delivered to be as product oxygen.

  Liquid oxygen is abstracted from  the bottom of upper column and heat-siphoned with expander air to control the carbon hydrogen concentration. Before waste nitrogen enters main heat exchanger, it has heat exchange with oxygen enriched and liquid air in subcooler. After reheated in main heat exchanger, part of waste nitrogen goes to MS absorber as regeneration gas while the other part is delivered to water cooling tower recover cold.

  Pure nitrogen abstracted from the upper column is having heat exchange with liquid nitrogen and liquid air in subcooler. After reheated in main heat exchanger, pure nitrogen is obtained as low pressure nitrogen product to be delivered out.

4.0Control system: DCS system is used.

  The above is brief introduction of the plant which can produce 5000M3/h O2 if the operator has skilful operation experience.
